Two people.
Two genuine yeses.
Try the controls immediately in the demo, or test a real saved conversation with another consenting adult. These are two different tests.
Quick preview · no second account
Open the demo’s Connections page. Choose “Preview a demo conversation”, write a sample message and press Send. Select “Show a scripted reply” to see an incoming bubble. Reload to check browser-local persistence.
This is a clearly labelled simulation. No real member, AI companion or live recipient is behind the demo conversation.
Try demo chatTry Moonhaven now—or with a connection
Open the public Moonhaven preview and select Try the two-guest preview. You control both fictional guests: accept as Guest 2, arrive, then switch to Guest 1 and arrive. Order for each guest, mark both ready for the garden, share both clues and enter the code from each side. At the pier, save a keepsake for one guest and switch seats to check it stays private. Reloading resets this local preview.
For the real test, complete the account and mutual-interest steps below. In your connection’s chat choose Invite to Moonhaven. The other member opens the invitation from their chat and accepts. Repeat the café and garden steps on separate devices. Progress refreshes every two seconds; chat every eight seconds. Reload to check that real progress persists. Blocking or unmatching must end access on both devices and clear the visit’s keepsakes.
Try Moonhaven without login1. Use two separate accounts
Use your owner account in your usual browser. Ask a consenting adult tester to open the invitation page on their device and sign in with their own ChatGPT account. Alternatively, use a second account you control in a different browser profile or private window. Two tabs signed into the same account are not two members.
Use test names and non-sensitive messages if you are only testing. Do not share passwords. Test profiles are real records and can be visible to other eligible approved members.
Open the invitation page2. Approve entry and complete both profiles
The second account submits the questionnaire and policy agreement. In your owner account, open Invitation requests and approve that test request. The tester then selects “Check status” on their invitation page.
Both people must save a complete member profile. The site owner has administrator entry but still needs to create a profile before appearing in discovery. Add a photo if you want to test photo upload too.
Administrator invitation review3. Make preferences mutually compatible
For a controlled test, select the same intention (for example, Companionship), at least one common language, and age and gender preferences that include the other tester. Both can choose Worldwide to avoid a country/city restriction. Leave discovery unpaused, and clear temporary discovery filters.
If either person’s preferences exclude the other, neither should appear. This is expected behaviour, not matching based on a photo.
4. Exchange interest, then messages
In Discover people, each tester opens the other’s profile and sends interest with the heart. One heart is not enough. Once both have chosen each other, open Connections and select the person.
Send “Test A — hello” from one account and reply “Test B — received” from the other. Connections and open chats check for updates every eight seconds while the page is visible. You can use Refresh connections if necessary. Reload each page and reopen the thread to confirm messages are saved.
Messages are text-only in this release. There are no push notifications, typing indicators, read receipts, voice calls or video calls. Chat is not end-to-end encrypted.
5. Actually do something together
In an open chat, choose Invite to a mystery, select one of the three stories, then Send activity invitation. The other person sees Activity invitation waiting in Connections; opening that chat reveals Accept invitation and No thanks.
After acceptance, each person gets a different clue. Both choose Share my clue, then either can enter the combined three-digit code. The completed state and ending should appear on both devices after the next refresh. Reload to verify saved progress. Either person can leave without ending the chat.
Then choose Answer together and send a question invitation. After acceptance, each person submits their own answer. The first answer must stay hidden from the other person until both submit. Only then do both answers appear. Use the clearly labelled simulation controls in the demo if you do not have a second tester.
6. Try pace, plans and branching stories
Inside a mutual conversation open Your next chapter. Send a pace invitation; the sender must not be able to accept it. The recipient accepts, then either person withdraws. Repeat with a plan: choose a future local date/time and a public venue, confirm both devices show the same moment in their own timezone, then cancel it. No booking or notification should be created.
Invite one of the six Night Archive stories. After acceptance, choose on only one account: its answer must stay hidden from the other. Choose on the other account to reveal both choices and the ending. Save a private keepsake on one account; it must not mark the story saved on the other. Refresh both screens.
Preview the chapter collection7. Test founder support and circle review
Open Help & appeals and submit a non-sensitive test request. In the founder care desk, reply to it. The reply must appear only to its owner; another member must not see it. No email or SMS is sent. An unapproved or suspended account can still request help.
In Small circles submit a short, non-sensitive contribution. Before review, only its author and the founder can see it. The founder publishes it in the care desk. A second approved member sees it, but not after blocking the author or when the author pauses discovery. The author can withdraw the contribution. Test this only with consenting accounts.
Founder care desk · Small circles · Help & appeals8. Check safety and photo controls
Report a non-sensitive test message from the receiving account. The administrator’s Moderation workspace should show the actual message as attached evidence; do not suspend a real member just to test a button. The public demo can demonstrate a blocked phrase locally without creating a real moderation record.
Phone-number patterns are rejected in new messages, shared answers and profile text. Contact exchange is locked; payment plans are not enabled. A new profile photo requires confirmation that it is a real photo of you, not an AI-generated face. This declaration is not automated identity or image-authenticity verification.
9. Check boundaries and sign-out
Pause discovery: the profile should disappear from new discovery, while the existing connection can still chat. Unmatch or block: the connection and messaging should close for both accounts. Unblocking must not restore a match; both people need to express interest again.
Use Sign out in the header or sidebar. The member world and private APIs must then require sign-in. Signing out of Second Moon is not a promise to sign you out of ChatGPT everywhere; the account provider may remember your account on that device.
If a chat does not appear
Check approval for both accounts, complete profiles, both hearts, matching preferences, and whether either profile is paused, blocked or suspended. Look for an error banner and use Retry if a request failed. Empty real discovery means there is no eligible member to show—we do not add fictional matches to the member world.
When testing is finished, the tester can pause discovery or delete their own member profile in Your space & privacy. Deletion is permanent and removes their conversations too; do it only if they want the test data removed.
